Nobody asks why you need a utility winch when you’re hauling something huge from a precarious position—but it’s nice when your service truck fleet has that option.
Braden has introduced its new direct bolt-on utility winch bumper options for Paccar medium-duty trucks as part of its popular UBX20 and PD18 utility bumper and planetary recovery winch systems.
Available for some Kenworth trucks, and Peterbilt's Aero and Vocational models, the bolt-on tech allows the bumpers to be attached directly to the chassis frame for hassle-free installation on your service truck.
The newest additions to the UBX20 and PD18 replacement bumper lines for fleet applications feature mounting bolt patterns matched specifically to the new Kenworth and Peterbilt medium-duty models for many Class 5-7 segments.
It means no custom-mounted brackets or welding required, saving time and costs on installation.
Both bumper systems are engineered with maximum winch line pull ratings of 20,000 lbs.
Braden direct bolt-on bumpers are available for the following Paccar medium-duty models:
- Kenworth: T480, T380, T280 and T180;
- Peterbilt: 548, 537, 536 and 535.
The UBX20 utility bumper is available with TR20 and PD18 planetary recovery winch models that feature a lighter and more aerodynamic design and a reinforced steel frame with two tow-eyes for maximum pulling capabilities.
The bumper accommodates a capstan to pull lighter loads at faster speeds and features a 60 percent larger toolbox lid for more accessible storage.
The PD18 utility bumper is built for no-nonsense performance, and like the UBX20, it is designed in compliance with SAE J706 and will accommodate the PD18 planetary recovery winch.
An optional collision mitigation system is also available.
