Although Bergey’s Truck Centers already sported locations in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, its recent acquisition of Cumberland Truck adds to its reach in Pa. and MD.
The acquisition garners Bergey’s Truck Centers an additional five truck centers and eight heavy-duty truck parts and industrial supply stores.
In the newly acquired locations, Bergey’s has stated it would be adding commercial truck sales, leasing, rental, service, parts, industrial supplies, and commercial tire services, keeping the Cumberland Truck brand, but leveraging and combining the resources of both companies.
Bergey’s Truck Centers said that three of the five truck centers—located in Carlisle, Ephrata and Milton, Pennsylvania—will provide it with a full-service Volvo dealership.
The just-acquired truck center in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania (no. 4 for those keeping track) will continue for now in its role as a parts, service and tire service center, while the fifth truck center in Hagerstown, Maryland will continue with providing truck and tire service.
Mark Bergey, chief executive officer of Bergey’s Truck Centers stated: “Our goal is to build on Cumberland Truck’s history of success by learning from each other and leveraging our combined resources, including our industry experts, to offer more commercial solutions to our customers.
These five new truck centers add over 50 service bays to the Bergey's Truck Centers network.
Regarding the eight newly acquired heavy-duty truck parts and industrial supply stores, these Pennsylvania-based shops will remain under its current namesakes as Cumberland Truck Parts and Harvey’s Supply Co., but expand Bergey’s reach into the State.
Of course, the additional shops now part of Bergey’s Truck Centers increases its warehouse distribution capabilities, shortening customer wait times.
“We are really excited about this acquisition and the opportunities it brings to our customers, stated Jim Gavaghan, President Bergey's Commercial Group. “Expanding our footprint and our product offerings allows us to serve our existing customers with more options, as well the chance to build new relationships with customers in these markets. Our brand promise is “Keeping Customers on the Road”, and we look forward to the opportunity to deliver on that promise for our new customers.”
Bergey’s Truck Centers now has 24 entities: 15 truck centers, eight truck parts locations, and one heavy-duty parts warehouse.
Starting up in 1924, the fourth generational, family-owned Bergey’s Truck Centers is a one-stop commercial dealership, providing everything in the trucking industry, from new vehicles, fuel, and all the services in between. Company information available at: https://www.bergeystruckcenters.com.
