Penske Truck Leasing and Bridgestone Americas have extended their partnership to test, develop and deploy Bridgestone advanced fleet technology and mobility solutions.
As part of the agreement, Penske will also remain a preferred customer of Bridgestone commercial tires and Bandag retread tires.
"Our collaboration with Bridgestone is an important one," said Paul Rosa, Senior Vice President of procurement and fleet planning with Penske Truck Leasing. "Together, we are able to provide our fleet customers with continued reliability, performance, over-the-road support, and enhanced sustainability."
The two companies will continue their collaboration on technologies and products to offer more efficient and sustainable outcomes for fleet mobility and fleet management.
Bandag retread tires—used by Penske as a core component of the partnership—provide significant environmental benefits including reduced C O2 emissions, natural resource extraction, water consumption, air pollution and land use, when compared to ultra-low cost, single-use commercial tires.
Using the tires, Penske noted that in 2020 it was able to decrease tire waste by 11.5 million pounds.
"Penske is an invaluable partner and collaborator in the drive to produce better business outcomes and a cleaner, more sustainable, low-emissions future for fleets," said Chris Ripani, president, Truck, Bus and Retread Tires, Bridgestone Americas.
