Curry Supply Company, a leading provider of truck manufacturing and upfitting headquartered in Altoona, Pennsylvania, has announced it will launch its Curry Skill Enhancement and Employee Development (SEED) Program within the Assembly Division, effective October 2024.
With over 90 years of industry experience, Curry Supply is a leading manufacturer and distributor of commercial truck and transportation equipment, serving industries such as construction, mining, oil and gas, and forestry.
This initiative underscores Curry Supply’s unwavering commitment to nurturing the potential of its workforce through innovative programs designed to foster growth and development.
Curry said that the SEED Program offers a structured pathway for career advancement, empowering employees to enhance their skills and qualifications to improve their overall livelihoods. Through tailored training, hands-on experiences, and opportunities for skill refinement, Curry Supply aims to cultivate fearless, driven, and proven individuals who are equipped to excel in their roles within the organization.
The Assembler Class Descriptions outline three categories representing different skill levels:
- Class I Assemblers (Entry Level) are provided with foundational training to kickstart their career in truck assembly;
- Class II Assemblers (Mid-Level) assume more advanced roles;
- Class III Assemblers (Senior Level) demonstrate mastery in truck assembly and leadership.
To advance through the program, employees must successfully complete a comprehensive evaluation tailored to their respective class levels. These evaluations encompass tasks such as PTO installation, hydraulic and airline plumbing, LunchBox training sessions, and ASE Truck Equipment Certification Prep.
“The benefits of professional training and certifications extend beyond individual skill development; they are integral to the success and sustainability of Curry Supply,” explained Tim Henry, the company’s Director of Quality and Customer Service. “We are dedicated to investing in the growth and advancement of our employees, as they are the cornerstone of our business.”
Through annual reviews and career planning sessions, Curry Supply maps employees' training and career progression, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives. These reviews serve as a roadmap for ongoing development and progression within the company.
The SEED Program represents Curry Supply’s commitment to fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence, ultimately positioning the company and its employees for sustained success and growth in the truck manufacturing and upfitting industry.
