Infographic summarizes results of April 2019 fleet managers survey
The online survey of 2,000 fleet executives, conducted in April 2019, revealed that 33 percent of respondents don’t have systems that allow them to track their total cost of ownership in one place, said a news release from Fleet Advantage, which is headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Among the other survey results were that 26 percent of respondents said their current software analysis platforms don’t combine financial and operations data together; 48 percent said their current platforms don’t provide benchmarking reports for the industry or other similar fleets; and about 62 percent said that either their platforms don’t produce profit and loss statements for each truck in their fleet or they’re unsure if the platforms have that capability.
“What this survey shows is that many fleet executives today are still lacking access to a complete picture of data and analysis from sophisticated business intelligence tools that help everyone across the organization make critical decisions to operate more efficiently and lower bottom line costs,” the release quoted Jim Griffin, chief operations and chief technology officer for Fleet Advantage.
Flipped around, though, the released results indicate that most of the fleet managers surveyed are using systems that combine financial and operations data, and that provide executive summaries that can be shared with others.
