The LaPorte, Indiana-headquartered Boss’ purchase also includes the full line-up of HIPPO’s mobile power solutions for the utilities and railroad sectors and industrial coatings.
Todd Hudson, the Boss Industries president stated: “We are very excited to partner with the HIPPO team to add several market leading mobile power solutions to our ever-expanding product portfolio. This strategic acquisition will allow us to continue providing best in class solutions to our customers in addition to expanding the services offered to HIPPO’s existing customer base.”
Originally a truck equipment upfitter with a specialization in aerial bucket trucks, the Riverside, Missouri-based HIPPO Multipower soon became renowned as a mobile hydraulic equipment specialist, building the industry’s first multipower unit capable of providing hydraulic, air and electric power from a single unit powered by a vehicle’s power take-off (PTO).
HIPPO Multipower Truck Mounted units are available in the P-Model (powered by your truck’s PTO) and E-Model (powered by an integrated diesel engine), and can be mounted curbside or street side for jobsite flexibility.
The company also worked with railroad professionals to design the HIPPO Power Tread and HIPPO THK—all-wheel-drive and self-propelled for power and mobility. Both are powered by a Kubota liquid-cooled diesel engine.
Boss Industries said it will continue to manufacture and distribute HIPPO’s commercial line and will work alongside each other to develop new HIPPO products.
