With the EPA insisting that electric vehicles will play an increasingly larger role in how the US reduces GHG (greenhouse gas) emissions, Isuzu has heard and taken steps.
Isuzu Commercial Truck of America, Inc., the distributor of the best-selling low-cab forward trucks in the US marketplace, has announced that Matthew Mesick has been named its first-ever Director of EV Strategies.
The announcement comes on the heels of the company’s plan to begin production of its first all-electric truck in Q1 of 2024 for the US and Canadian markets.
“As electric vehicles will play an ever-increasing role in our future, having resources focused 100 percent in this area is necessary for our organization to support everyone’s efforts properly,” said Shaun Skinner, President of Isuzu Commercial Truck of America and Isuzu Commercial Truck of Canada. “This all-new position will focus on EV (electric vehicle) growth and supporting our dealers with necessary information concerning EV regulations, trends, subsidies, and more.”
Meswick has been with Isuzu Commercial Truck America for the past 11 years, holding positions in both service and sales. Most recently, he served as Director of Western Regional Operations.
In addition to his appointment, Isuzu announced two additional promotions:
- Ed Crawford is promoted to the role of Assistant Vice President, Sales Operations. He will continue to focus on the areas of production, distribution, and sales-related activities. He has been with the company for over 24 years.
- Brian Tabel is promoted to the position of Assistant Vice President, Marketing. He has been with the company for 28 years, working in field service and sales positions and leading the marketing team for just under 14 years. He recently became the first representative of an import chassis brand to be appointed to the board of the NTEA—the association for the work truck industry.
“I strongly believe Isuzu has never been in a better position in the medium-duty marketplace, and we will continue to look for ways to better serve our dealers and customers,” stated Skinner, adding that “these changes will put us all in a prime position for success now and in the future.”
Isuzu Commercial Truck of America is headquartered in Anaheim, California, and is the distributor of Isuzu commercial vehicles in the US. Its commercial trucks have been the best-selling low-cab-forward trucks in America every single year since 1986.
