Bollinger Motors, an all-electric truck manufacturing company, is expanding its product offering from class 3 electric trucks to the development of class 4 and 5 electric platforms as well.
The company, which has been focusing on class 3 models since 2017, has put over 6 years of development in to electric-vehicle engineering. The Class 3 Bollinger B1 SUV debuted in 2017, with the mission of providing clean, simple, and lasting trucks for the market.
“We started from day one working on Class 3 all-electric trucks. We’ve proven our chops over the years with multiple prototypes, and our own battery development,” says Chief Executive Officer and Founder Robert Bollinger. “Now we’re proud to take that hard work and provide electric-chassis solutions for OEMs and commercial customers in Classes 3, 4 and 5 — where large payloads, sufficient range and long-life durability are practically mandatory.”
The new electric platforms Chass-E-4 and Chass-E-5 will be able to withstand a payload of 9,000lbs and 11,500lbs respectfully. Along with the original Chass-E-3 platform, the new additions will pull its energy from patent-pending Bollinger Motors 700-volt battery packs. The electric platforms are powered by solid rear axle E-Drivers designed for longer life.
“Solid rear axles are the cornerstone for commercial fleets. They are stronger and more durable than alternative ways to electrify trucks,” says David Cripps, Chief Engineer at Bollinger Motors. “It’s the most efficient way to switch to electrification, while keeping what works best for commercial.”
Consumers who are interested in the Chass-E platform will find that the product can tailor to many different types of service vehicles, including chassis cabs, last-mile delivery vans, freight trucks, bucket trucks, airport tugs, autonomous vehicles, and many others.
“We’re excited to broaden our expertise in Class 3 engineering to include Class 4 and 5,” says Bollinger. “Our full range of hard-working trucks will give customers a ton of options.”
Those interested can see the Bollinger Motor vehicles and meet company representatives at the ACT Expo, Booth 1701, in Long Beach, California August 31 and September 1st of 2021.
