For all of your utility professionals and construction contractors looking for ways to move yourself, your company, and your customers ahead, go check out The Utility Expo.
This trade event is being held September 26–28, 2023, in Louisville, Kentucky, at the Kentucky Exposition Center—an event developed by the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM).
This biennial event is known for its new equipment test drives and interactive product demonstrations—meaning it’s a great place to get your hands wet with the latest technologies, innovations, and trends.
AEM is the North America-based international trade group representing off-road equipment manufacturers and suppliers with more than 1,000 companies and more than 200 product lines in the agriculture and construction-related industry sectors worldwide. The equipment manufacturing industry in the US supports 2.8 million jobs and contributes approximately $288 billion to the economy every year.
This year’s show will have more than 850 exhibitors and will include 50 innovative education sessions.
"Our team worked to create additional space this year while grouping similar product types better, making it even easier for everyone to find what they’re looking for," John Rozum, Director of The Utility Show, stated. "That’s important given the show covers more than 1.4 million square feet of indoor and outdoor exhibits."
Continuing education and professional development hours are always important parts of the utility industry. And, along with learning about new technologies and equipment, The Utility Expo has updated its session offerings based on attendee feedback.
"The industry comes together at The Utility Expo to see and experience the latest overhead and underground infrastructure equipment at work," commented Rozum. "Our education offerings at the show range from peer-to-peer demos to professional instruction. Whether you prefer to learn in the classroom or the driver’s seat, The Utility Expo has you covered."
This year, The Utility Expo features a Safety Symposium with 10 sessions and two different certifications from the American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA).
"The education programs ATSSA will present at The Utility Expo can help participants expand their knowledge about traffic safety while on the job," Rozum continued. "This is a great opportunity for contractors to bring their crew to hear about emerging safety technologies or to become a traffic control technician and earn an ATSSA Flagger Certification, while also checking out the latest equipment on the show floor."
The Utility Expo will offer more than 50 education sessions, including many that will offer participants the opportunity to earn professional development hours (PDHs).
And if the educational aspect, the opportunity to make new industry contacts, or the chance to learn about the latest and greatest technological innovations and trends impacting our construction and utilities industries aren’t already whetting your appetite, please note that Service Truck Magazine will also be attending The Utility Expo in Booth S2813.
